Aboriginal Law Update:
New Law, Emerging Issues & Future Directions

March 6, 2008
Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside Hotel
Vancouver, BC

2007 Was a Year of Historic Changes for Aboriginal Peoples in Canada

Aboriginal law and policy are complex and constantly evolving issues. The past year was no exception with the impact of significant new case law and legislation. These historic changes usher in a new era of hope with respect to the ongoing goal of reconciliation – over the next few years, real progress is expected.

This one-day forum brings together leading Aboriginal law experts who will walk you through the most important changes and afford you the opportunity to discuss and debate the significant shifts.

You will also have a unique opportunity to learn about the Nisga’a Agreement. Our faculty will examine the key successes and challenges of operating under this modern land claim and self-government agreement. They will also discuss what would be done differently today and what the major lessons are that can assist moving forward with future agreements.
