Janelle completed her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Saskatchewan, before completing her law degree at of University of Alberta, and the Intensive program in Aboriginal Lands, Resources and Government at Osgoode Hall Law School. Prior to joining PBLI in the summer of 2007, Ms. O'Connor worked in civil litigation, primarily in the defence of school boards, hospitals and municipalities, at a local Vancouver law firm. Janelle’s personal and professional research interests are in the socio-legal field, particularly as it pertains to Aboriginal people. She is currently an adjucant professor at UBC in the Department of Sociology.
