Announcement: Rebecca Levi is our new CEO

Pacific Business & Law Institute is excited to announce the appointment of Rebecca Levi as our new Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1st, 2017. Ms. Levi has been part of the PBLI team for over four years, first in the role of Director of Programming, and currently as Acting CEO since June 2017. Ms. Levi succeeds Pauline Cusack, the Founder and Owner, who has dedicated her career to establishing and building the business over the past 27 years. Ms. Cusack will remain with PBLI in the position of Strategic Advisor.

Ms. Levi obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology prior to completing her law degree at the University of British Columbia, where she graduated in 2007 as the Gold Medalist. Before attending law school, she worked in research at UBC, with a particular focus on clinical psychology and the psychology of human assessment in the workplace. Ms. Levi was called to the British Columbia bar after clerking at the BC Court of Appeal. Prior to joining PBLI in 2013, she practised tax law at a leading national business law firm. Ms. Levi has been the recipient of numerous legal awards and has written and published extensively for both legal and non-legal audiences. She chairs the Governance Committee of the Cerebral Palsy Association of BC.

“I am honoured that PBLI has chosen me to follow in the footsteps of an exemplary CEO who has led PBLI for the past 27 years. I am proud of the work we do fostering education, debate, discussion and engagement across disciplines. I look forward to building on the strong foundation already in place and helping to grow the business in keeping with the needs of our community.”
