Neil Davie,  Partner, Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP, Vancouver, BC. Neil practises in the Real Estate Group at Norton Rose Fulbright. Neil’s practice involves all aspects of commercial real estate including the acquisition, financing, leasing, development and sale of residential, industrial, office, and retail properties for local, national, and offshore clients. Neil has extensive experience advising clients at all stages of the development process – from rezoning through to building occupancy. He has worked on a number of complex phased and mixed-use developments for some of the Lower Mainland’s leading residential and commercial real estate developers. Neil has also been recognized as a leading lawyer in the area of Real Estate by Lexpert, Chambers Canada, and Chambers Global. Neil has been listed in Best Lawyers in Canada in the areas of Commercial Leasing Law and Real Estate Law and was named the “2016 Lawyer of the Year” and the “2018 Lawyer of the Year” in the area of Commercial Leasing Law for Vancouver.

   

Mario RubioPartner, Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP, Vancouver, BC. Mario is a senior associate in Norton Rose’s Real Estate Group, where he assist clients with real estate transactions involving the acquisition, financing, leasing, development, subdivision, and sale of commercial, industrial, office, retail, and residential properties. Mario represents a broad range of clients, including developers, retail companies, forestry companies, societies, port authorities, and other commercial, industrial, and residential landowners. Mario is the Co-Chair of the Canadian Bar Association—Vancouver Real Property Subsection.

Maxwell Carroll, Partner, Lawson Lundell LLP, Vancouver, BC. Maxwell is a partner in the Real Estate Group at Lawson Lundell and advises clients on all aspects of the commercial real estate and development industry, including the acquisition, disposition, financing, rezoning, subdivision, development, redevelopment and leasing of real property. Maxwell’s experience includes representing various institutional and privately held landlords in connection with the preparation and negotiation of leases for regional shopping centres, office tower complexes and industrial portfolios. He is former Co-Chair of the Vancouver Real Property Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association; a member of the Urban Development Institute and National Association of Industrial and Office Properties; and a contributing author to the British Columbia Due Diligence Deskbook.

   

Camille ChisholmAssociate, Lawson Lundell LLP, Vancouver, BC. Camille’s practice focuses primarily on commercial and real estate litigation. She acts for a variety of clients in breach of contract and negligence claims, in addition to representing companies and shareholders in various corporate disputes, including those related to corporate governance. She also represents clients with respect to commercial lease disputes, claims arising out of other real estate transactions, real estate agent services and issues arising under the Strata Property Act. Camille has appeared before the Provincial and Supreme courts of British Columbia. She also represents clients in commercial arbitrations and assists them in resolving claims through negotiation and mediation.

   

Damon ChisholmPartner, McMillan LLP, Vancouver, BC. Damon is Co-Chair of his firm’s Commercial Real Estate Group and is a member of the Financial Services Group. His practice focuses on all aspects of commercial real estate including development, subdivisions, stratifications, acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and leasing of commercial properties. Damon’s experience includes acting for natural resource companies in complex project financing and acquisitions, purchasers and vendors of large commercial developments, including land acquisitions, hotels, apartment buildings and industrial and office complexes as well as successfully negotiating complex commercial and railway land leases for major landlords and for a variety of industrial tenants. Damon’s practice also includes commercial lending matters including secured, unsecured and project financing and he has acted for institutional and private lenders and borrowers.

   

Arpal Dosanjh, Partner, Gudmundseth Mickelson LLP, Vancouver, BC. Arpal has extensive court experience in wide ranging legal matters, and has advocated for his clients in all the courts of British Columbia and Alberta. He obtained his LL.B. from the University of Victoria, and served as a law clerk for the Chief Justice, the Associate Chief Justice and four other justices of the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Arpal is called to the bar in both BC and Alberta.

   
 

Clayton Gallant, Associate, Gudmundseth Mickelson LLP, Vancouver, BC.  Clayton has a broad civil and commercial litigation practice.  He has assisted with matters before all levels of court in British Columbia, including real estate, Strata Property Act and commercial lease disputes.  Prior to being called to the bar, he served as a law clerk for five justices of the Supreme Court of British Columbia.  

   

Ian HardieAssociate, Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP, Vancouver, BC. Ian Hardie is a member of Norton Rose’s real estate team, where he advises clients on transactions involving the acquisition, financing, leasing, development, and sale of commercial, industrial, and residential properties.

   

Jocelyne LegalVice President, Leasing, Triovest Realty Advisors Inc., Vancouver, BC. Jocelyne Legal began her career in real estate in 1988 at Bentall and has since worked with some of the largest real estate companies in Vancouver, including Colliers, CBRE, GWL Realty Advisors and Cadillac Fairview. With these firms, her focus was on leasing in the downtown core. In 2010, Jocelyne joined Triovest, known then as Tonko Realty Advisors. Her initial role at Triovest focused exclusively on the leasing of Willingdon Park in Burnaby. She is now Vice President, Leasing, overseeing all of the office and industrial leasing for Triovest properties in British Columbia, which represent a combined total of approximately 5 million square feet.

   

Shauna TowrissPartner, Clark Wilson LLP, Vancouver, BC. Shauna’s practice is focused on transactions involving buying, selling, leasing and financing all types of commercial real estate and on assisting various private entities to raise equity through offering memoranda (or through applicable exemptions to Securities Act requirements) in limited partnership and trust structures for a variety of real estate investment and development projects. In doing so, Shauna assists such entities with identifying and complying with the securities legislation, rules and regulations that are applicable when raising equity from investors to invest in real estate. Shauna also acts for several mortgage investment corporations, mortgage trusts and private REITs. Shauna is a member of the Urban Development Institute and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Peter A. Allard School of Law Alumni Association and is a past Director and Secretary of the Tyee Club of British Columbia.
